A song that has endlessly hummed, its words a tale from times of old
The meanings it holds still unknown yet it sweeps me with sorrowful tides
The sky that says cloudlessly clear and the rhine flows quietly be low
Red fading sunset it shines brightly behind the Lorelei hill
A beauty above with its love lures a wondering boat man in sight
He sees not the rock near but only her there breaks down the man's wooden boat
The wave through the pass keeps on swinging and soon swallows the boat whole
Enchanting all with her mighty singing the Lorelei hath done
