Paper Hearts

Sitting by the window, writing down my thoughts,
Trying to explain this feeling inside.
Letters dancing at my fingertips,
Will they ever reach your eyes?
One page, then another,
Will I ever send them to you?
Paper hearts, words in ink,
Holding onto love I’ve yet to speak.
Even if they never find their way,
Still, I write them every day.
Between the pages, I hide away
Pieces of memories left untold.
Maybe one day, if you find them,
Would you finally understand?
One step closer, I want to try,
Could I gather the courage tonight?
