Glass Tongue

you said it’s nothing,  
but your eyes… they never lie  
silver spoons clinking in silence  
truth, thin as crystal  
and I? I sip on it slowly  
like I’ve got time to taste every unspoken line  
don’t call me soft,  
just ‘cause I chose not to shatter  
my words are sharp,  
but shaped for dance, not for damage  
every pause a performance  
every sigh, a cymbal  
I bend the tone ‘til it sings what I meant  
not what you hoped I’d mean  
mirror on the table,  
and I’m talking to myself  
every phrase a reflection  
every beat a breath  
this is jazz, not judgment  
so don’t flinch,  
I’m not here to cut—  
just to slice it clean  
glass tongue, steady hands  
clear enough to sting
