I’ve lost something, but I don’t know what,
My hands fumble through pockets as I walk a lot.
The road stretches long, endlessly ahead,
With stones and stones, where the path is led.
The wall of stones runs along my side,
Casting shadows where secrets hide.
The gate is locked, the way is dim,
From morning to night, the path grows slim.
I trace the wall, my tears begin,
But when I look up, the sky is thin.
A bright blue hue, so soft, so shy,
Above this path where none walk by.
No grass grows, no life is here,
Yet I walk this road year after year.
The wall of stones runs along my side,
Casting shadows where secrets hide.
The gate is locked, the way is dim,
From morning to night, the path grows slim.
I walk this road because on the other side,
A part of me is left, denied.
I live this life, a quest unplanned,
To find what’s lost, with trembling hand.
The reason I walk, the reason I live,
Is to search for what the past won’t give.
The wall stands tall, the shadows grow,
But still, I walk, I have to know.
What lies beyond, what’s left behind,
In this endless search for peace of mind.
Though the sky is bright, the path is bare,
I keep on walking, unaware.
For what I’ve lost, I must retrieve,
The path remains, as long as I believe.
The wall of stones runs along my side,
Casting shadows where secrets hide.
The gate is locked, the way is dim,
From morning to night, the path grows slim.
