미운 오리 새끼
Once upon a time, there was a mother duck who had five eggs.
옛날 옛적에, 엄마 오리가 다섯 개의 알을 품고 있었어요.
One by one, the eggs began to hatch, and out came four fluffy yellow ducklings.
하나씩, 알들이 부화하면서, 네 마리의 폭신폭신한 노란 오리 새끼들이 나왔어요.
But the last egg was bigger than the others and didn't hatch right away.
하지만 마지막 알은 다른 알들보다 크고, 바로 부화하지 않았어요.
When it finally cracked, out came a large gray duckling.
마침내 그 알이 깨졌을 때, 큰 회색 오리 새끼가 나왔어요.
The other ducklings looked at him and said,
다른 오리 새끼들이 그를 보고 말했어요,
"You look so different!"
"너 정말 우리랑 다르게 생겼어"
The poor gray duckling felt sad and lonely.
불쌍한 회색 오리 새끼는 슬프고 외로웠어요.
No one wanted to play with him.
아무도 그와 놀고 싶어 하지 않았죠.
"Why am I so different?"
"나는 왜 이렇게 다른 걸까?"
"Maybe I don't belong here."
"여긴 내가 있을 곳이 아닌가 봐."
So one day, he left the farm to find a new place.
그래서 어느 날, 그는 새로운 곳을 찾기 위해 농장을 떠났어요.
He walked and walked, meeting different animals along the way.
그는 걷고, 또 걸었어요, 그러면서 길에서 여러 동물들을 만났어요.
But every time they saw him, they said, "You're not like us."
하지만 그를 본 동물들마다 말했어요, "너는 우리랑 다르게 생겼어."
Winter came, and the gray duckling was cold and tired.
겨울이 왔고, 회색 오리 새끼는 춥고 지쳤어요.
He found a little barn and stayed there through the cold, snowy days.
그는 작은 헛간을 찾아서 추운 눈 오는 날들을 그곳에서 보냈어요.
Finally, spring arrived, and the sun shone warmly again.
드디어 봄이 찾아오고, 따뜻한 햇살이 다시 비쳤어요.
The gray duckling went to the pond and saw some beautiful white birds.
회색 오리 새끼는 연못으로 갔고, 아름다운 하얀 새들을 보았어요.
He admired them and said, "I wish I were as beautiful as they are."
그는 그들을 보며 감탄했어요, "나도 저들처럼 아름다웠으면 좋겠어."
But when he looked down into the water, he saw his reflection.
그러다 물 속을 바라보았는데, 물 속에 반사되는 자신의 모습이 보였어요.
To his surprise, he had turned into a beautiful white swan!
놀랍게도, 그는 아름다운 하얀 백조로 변해 있었어요!
The other swans swam over and said, "Come join us!"
다른 백조들이 그에게 다가와 말했어요, "우리와 함께해요!"
He finally found his true family and lived happily ever after.
그는 마침내 자신의 진짜 가족을 찾았고, 행복하게 살았어요.
